Kamusta, this week we are learning about the Philippines Independence Day. It is celebrated at Friday 12 June and it is going to be celebrated for the 123rd time this year.

It is celebrated because the declaration of independence from Spain. The military and police hold a parade in the Philippine capital Manila to celebrate independence day.

They eat:

Adobo which is chicken marinated in vinegar, soy sauce, spices and seasoning.


Lechon is a roast piglet usually eaten with rice.


Tinola is chicken soup with leaves and vegetables

Arbor Day

Arbor Day



Tomorrow (Friday 5th of June) is New Zealand Arbor Day. Arbor Day is about planting trees and it is usually celebrated in spring so the date might be different for other countries. The first Arbor Day was celebrated in April 10, 1872 in Nebraska City and there were approximately 1 million trees planted.

At school we planted plants and trees outside, Jaren, Isaiah and I planted a tree together. Trees are important because they give us oxygen.
